The Florida Democrats page has an article that blasts Howard Dean and suggests that he be removed from office “Anyone standing with Howard Dean after the Democratic convention may be out of a job like him”. Howard Dean has been a uniting force for the democrats as well as someone who has been expanding our base of supporters, both of which Florida desperately needs. This article , as well as talk like it, is going to be devistating long term to the Florida democratic party. We all can be upset about the situation, but really are there some people, specificly Bill Nelson, that are trying to get floridians to leave the party.

I’ve had it up to here with so-called Democrats like Bill Nelson and apparently the ratfink DINO group that runs the party in Florida. It was Howard Dean and his 50-State Strategy more than anything else that gave Democrats the majority in Congress and helped stem the tide of malfeasance by the Bush crime syndicate. Losing him would be, bar none, the stupidest thing the Democrats could do right now.
I’ll have more to say on this at Blast Off!, I assure you. I’d rather the Florida Democrats (starting with Bill Nelson, the notorious enabler) leave Howard Dean than have Dean leave us just when we need him the most. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you …
Florida Dems are upset at the prospect of losing their voice in the nominating process, as well they should be, but if the end result is that we have a major change in the way we select a candidate, so much the better. I’ve never liked the Iowa-New Hampshire stranglehold, but it really pissed me off when they decided Kerry was the most “electable” and stuck us with him.
If Dean has shown anything, it’s that he’s adaptable. We’ll have a new system in place in 2012, if he has anything to say about it.
Sinfonian,
I couldn’t agree more. I just made the first donation I’ve made to the FDP in 12 years, prefering to donate instead to the DNC and DFA. They will lose me for good if they don’t shut up and stop blaming Dean. Our Democratic legislators screwed us. Hearing people like Alberto Gonzalez-supporter Bill Nelson (see recent FISA vote), Chris Hand, and Janee Murphy run their mouths to the press is enough to turn me off Florida politics for good. I can’t help but think these loudmouth whiners are only concerned with their own positions as delegates to the national convention. They can’t stop telling the voters of Florida how their votes won’t count which will only depress turnout on January 29th.
I fault the legislators for their votes on the primary move, and for thumbing their noses at the DNC, but I fault the FDP for not having a positive message ready to spread last Saturday. Instead, they’ve allowed Democratic activists around the state to cry to the media about how important we are. They remind me of a bunch of toddlers screaming for attention.
Enough is enough!
The FDP doesn’t seem to understand that when you point a finger at someone, there are three more pointing right back at you.
“Anyone standing with Howard Dean after the Democratic convention may be out of a job like himâ€.
A hollow threat that smells of desperation.
Just for clarification’s sake, the article on the FDP site is not from FDP, it is a reprint of an article written by Bill Rufty of the Lakeland Ledger.
