Ted Deutch is not running for CFO

Sen. Bill Nelson, mounting a major public relations offensive against the latest move to open areas near Florida shores to oil and gas exploration, held a news conference at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa this morning and vowed to “grind the Senate to a halt” if necessary to stop the drilling move.

Another heavyweight Republican endorsement for Wellington Councilwoman Lizbeth Benacquisto in her state Senate bid: U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta, is backing her in the 2010 race for the seat of Sen. Dave Aronberg, D-Greenacres, who’s running for attorney general.

It appears that progressives are holding a hard line on the public option in the House. Speaker Pelosi has now stated, on consecutive days, that there are not enough votes in the House to pass a health care reform bill without a public option…
