Alan Brock, FYD Prez, and former Edwards delegate, is urging his fellow Edwards supporters to endorse Obama and help end the Democratic primary. This is his email:
Dear Fellow Edwards Delegates,
I write to you today to encourage you to join me in helping bring an end to Florida’s delegate dispute. We have a unique opportunity.
As you probably know, John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama yesterday in Michigan. This means that Edwards’ delegates now are free to support whichever remaining candidate they choose.
I am choosing to pledge my vote for Obama. I believe he is our presumptive nominee, and Democrats, especially in Florida, cannot waste any more time on the primary. We have to move on to the general election. If we rally together, we will win Florida.
I also believe that if all 13 of us Edwards delegates join together and pledge our votes to Obama, the DNC and the Obama campaign will be more likely to decide to seat our full delegation on May 31.
So I humbly request that you pledge with me to vote for Obama. Please email me if you would like to join me, and if we have a critical mass, we can go public as a group and help move things forward.
Lastly, please do not feel pressured if this is not what you want to do. I fully understand that we have two phenomenal presidential candidates left in the race, and people feel very strongly about both of them. But this is our chance to help bring this to an end.
Feel free to call me if you would like to discuss further, 850-528-0828.
Sincerely,
Alan Brock
